Thousand Islands Vintage Nautical Chart Pillow #5 (Clayton to A Bay)
The Golden Cleat’s vintage nautical chart pillows are sure to entertain daily and provide enjoyment for generations. Antique nautical charts from the early 1900s are digitally captured and custom printed onto 100% cotton sateen fabric. Due to the fabric's high thread count, even the finest details in each chart are preserved during the printing process. The image resolution is so crisp and clear, it's hard to believe you're looking at fabric as opposed to paper.
This pillow prominently features the town of Clayton, the eastern part of Grindstone Island, and Wellesley Island, which is the second largest of the Thousand Islands (out of a total of 1,864). Located at the head of Wellesley Island is picturesque Thousand Island Park, founded by Methodists in 1875, and lined with Victorian-era cottages to this day. The St. Lawrence River becomes very narrow as it passes between "Wells" Island and the US mainland. This chart was made in 1940, three years after the Thousand Islands Bridge was built over this stretch of river, know as the American Narrows. The chart continues downriver past Alexandria Bay to the head of Grenadier Island.
The Golden Cleat sources only high quality American made materials which are then assembled and sewn into pillows in the Thousand Islands. Each pillow in the collection features an invisible zipper closure, an ivory-colored 100% cotton backing, and a woven tag which bears The Golden Cleat logo.
