Pearl

June has two birthstones: moonstone and pearl. Pearls are formed when some sort of small foreign body, such as a grain of sand, gets inside a mollusk and layers of pearly material form around it over time as a natural defense against such irritants. Pearls are believed to offer protection, as well as attract good luck and wealth. They are known for their calming effects. It is also said that these pearls are symbolic of the wearer's loyalty, generosity, integrity, and purity.
